About the Artist

Adele Jacqueline Moore

Jacqueline is an award winning internationally collected artist, and a respected instructor of pastel and oil painting at the Art Center of Bonita Springs .

Jacqueline has been drawing and painting since the age of four when she learned to draw Blondie sitting on the steps with her grandmother’s neighbor.  She continued to progress on her own and in high school through experimentation with charcoal drawing, graphite drawing, and oil painting with the help of Mrs. Sherry Knebbles in Tenafly, New Jersey.

“Following a few classes in Fashion Drawing at the Ridgewood School of Art, I began my training in my home state of New Jersey at Ramapo College in Mahwah. Finding the emphasis on modernism not to my liking, I quickly decided follow to an independent course of art instruction from living masters that shared my love of realism, light and color.  

The luminist period (forerunner of the impressionsist movement) in America was my early and ongoing passion because it maintained the realism while concentrating on the quest to capture the light. 

On relocating to Delaware, I attended the Absalom Jones Art Center and was exposed to in-depth studies of print making, slab clay works, oil painting and sculpture for six years.

When I relocated Florida , I did commission works for several years and then took up studying again, learning to work with pastel in the mid nineties from Greg Biolchini.

This was followed by two years of drawing and oil painting classes with an emerging artist, Douglas Flynt, learning French classical realism at his atelier.

In addition to Douglas Flynt, some of the artists that I have the pleasure of studying with are:  Joyce Miller, portraits in oil; Greg Biolchini, PSA Master Pastelist; Albert Handell PSA Master Pastelist; Duane Wakeham, PSA Master Pastelist; Doug Dawson, PSA Master Pastelist; Alan Flattmann PSA Master Pastelist; Joseph Fettingis AWS, watercolor; Daniel Greene, portrait in oil.  These are just a few of the magnificent artists that have pounded good art sense into me over the years.”

Professional Affiliations include Pastel Society of America, Degas Pastel Society, Southwest Florida Pastel Society (charter and former board member), Southeastern Pastel Society, Oil Painters of America, Allied Artists of America.
